Still prior to releasing their first album, Paper Route have been building a following thanks to strong live shows and two highly-enjoyable EPs. Their electronic-tinged alt-rock comes across both on disc and on stage very well, and the band proved it once again at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA on February 6th.

Sandwiched between one-man Depeche Mode stylings of Cale Park, and the headliners, Passion Pit, Paper Route really built the crowd’s momentum on a high-volume, high-intensity performance. Mixing in tracks from their self-titled EP and last year’s Are We All Forgotten? EP (QRO review), the group blasted their way through their set. While the crowd interaction was kept to a minimum, their most powerful moments came during the standouts from last year’s release, the rolling "Empty House" and soaring "Are We All Forgotten?". Throughout the set, they were able to drive in between their slow and fast songs with smooth handling.
From the crowd’s reaction, and the overall performance, it’s clear that Paper Route are prepared to make an impression on a lot more people. Their material and their live show are both already outstanding, and just getting better.
