One of the greatest livestreams during the extended lockdown was from Keith Murray and Chris Cain of We Are Scientists, as the indie-rock pair kept their bromance going on Instagram with chats that saw their hilarious banter taken up another level, including prepared pieces on their dubious sponsors like Battlenology, special guest who kept never appearing Brad Pitt (or as he actually goes by, “BP Oil”), pointing out that Murray’s COVID summer home of Miami is “I MAIM” backwards, and much, much more (even some songs performed – with Cain’s totally appropriate videos to go with).
Those are returning this Thursday, July 8th, 4:00 PM EST/9:00 PM GST – and the band is returning! They just put out killer new single “Contact High”, including a well-trafficked video, New album HUFFY comes out October 8th, there’s a (real) hometown show at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on August 10th (so 8-10 or 10-8 works whether you’re American or European…), a big U.K. tour in the fall, and big EU tour in the spring.
