Santogold : LiveIt was hot by the time Santogold got on stage in Boston, and then she made the heat almost unbearable. Santi White, her DJ, and her dancers turned the Paradise into a sweat box after more than an hour of jams that the adoring crowd couldn’t keep still for.

She started her set with “You’ll Find a Way”, which immediately worked the audience into a lather, as she gave a good part of the front row high fives.  “L.E.S. Artistes” came second as the crowd sang it back to her so emphatically that it required her to towel her face off afterward.   After telling the Paradise that she loved them, she continued on with an electrifying set that included a slower mix of “Lights Out” and the stark “Creator”.

Her backup dancers were perhaps the only people at the venue keeping cool, as their stone-cold gazes and steely locks-and-pops never melted in the heat.  They went so far as to recall Public Enemy’s S1W in their unshakable concentration.

Santogold’s invasion continues on the Myspace-sponsored tour as she kidnaps college kids affections with her complex, but sweet, delivery and her penchant for ironic ’80s garb.  She’s definitely still on her way up.
