We all need the sweetness these days. Between enduring a worldwide pandemic and enduring worldwide strife, Real Estate’s sweet sounds feel like a relief. They bring more of that in Daniel, their first album since COVID struck our lives, upping the catch at times for an album to sooth your soul.
From the bright comfort of opener “Somebody New” onward, Daniel showcases Real Estate’s easy to enjoy sound. This is not the music of angry or even disaffected hipsters, but the sunny relax one found in the sixties and seventies. But it’s also not just ‘easy listening’, as there is a distinct catch to songs such as “Haunted World”, “Say No More”, and “Market Street”.
So, for a moment or two let go of your anxiety and frustration, and let Real Estate introduce you to Daniel.
