Internationally celebrated musician Grace Potter returns to Burlington, Vermont to throw her own festival, Grand Point North, at Waterfront Park, Saturday & Sunday, September 16 & 17th:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th
Grace Potter, 8:45 PM While many jam bands on the festival circuit seem to have been playing forever, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (QRO photos outdoors) formed & broke out more recently (QRO photos outdoors at a festival), thanks to 2007’s This Is Somewhere. The funky blues-soul act (QRO photos at a festival) earned major praise for 2010’s self-titled release (QRO review) and 2012’s The Lion The Beast The Beat, and got bigger & bigger (QRO photos at a festival). In 2015, however, Grace Potter went solo and released her first proper solo album, Midnight. Now she returns to play both nights of her own festival (QRO photos at Grand Point North ’15). |
|
Dawes, 7:35 PM The up-and-coming Americana indie outfit (QRO photos) that’s come up, Dawes (QRO photos at a festival) hail from Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon (QRO photos outdoors), out last year with fourth release We’re All Gonna Die – and neither do they (QRO photos). They come to Grand Point North (QRO photos at a festival) after having also served as opener & backing band for Conor Oberst (QRO photos together at a festival). |
|
Mondo Cozmo, 6:45 PM This festival season, one of the most ubiquitous performers has been Josh Ostrander, a.k.a. Mondo Cozmo (QRO photos). He’d previously run in acts Laguardia and Eastern Conference Champions, but now is operating solo. |
