Damon Albarn - The Tower of Montevideo

Once upon a time, Damon Albarn was just the impish frontman for nineties Brit-pop wonders Blur, but he’s since become an international man of music, from his ‘virtual band’ Gorillaz (QRO 2020 livestream review) to his Chinese myth-inspired stage production Monkey: Journey To the West (QRO review) – plus Blur still rocks (QRO reunion record review). He’s now getting back to his solo work, following up 2014’s powerful Everyday Robots (QRO review) with The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows out November 12th, and now debuts the record’s new single, the tribute to Uruguay’s iconic 1920s building Palacio Salvo, “The Tower of Montevideo”.
