Avril Lavigne took the stage on Tuesday night, May 17th, with grandson and Mod Sun on her spring ‘Bite Me’ tour, at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a sold out arena show.
Derek Ryan Smith, a.k.a. Mod Sun, has been getting more popular in the pop punk scene now they put on a great show – and even put out a single with Lavigne herself, “Flames”. He has a couple of festivals in June in the U.K., totally recommend checking out Mod Sun.
The highly recommended Jordan Benjamin, a.k.a. grandson, was great live. He knows how to put on a set for sure. Heard fans singing lyrics all across the stadium. Can’t wait to see him again.
Avril Lavigne finally hit the stage at 10:05pm, and of course played old and new songs, the crowd enjoying every one. Everyone was dancing. Hearing Lavigne play “Smile”, “Sk8er Boi”, “I’m with You” and more, your correspondent’s middle school version came out. Even fans were singing to the brand new songs from this year’s Love Sux, which Lavigne loved hearing the whole stadium singing to the new “Bite Me”. Can’t wait for the return back!
