On Thursday & Friday, December 8th & 9th, New York City is visited by England’s Tribes. The group has been building a lot of buzz back over in Blighty as a ‘return to rock’ without being only a ‘return to rock’, thanks to a healthy dose of indie.
Their full-length comes out in January, just before they play NME Awards Tour, but out right now is We Were Children EP, with title track’s evocative anthem for the children of the nineties, the wry-but-hopeful “Girlfriend”, and sadder acoustic “Coming of Age”.
Catch Tribes on December 8th at Mercury Lounge, or December 9th at Glasslands – both dates with QRO favorite We Barbarians (QRO live review at Mercury). Tribes will also be doing an early acoustic performance on the 8th at EXIT ART NYC for Hard Rock Hotel and Casinos (before the private presentation that’ll include investors like the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett), and DJing an after-party at Bowery Electric after their Mercury show.
