Happy January 8th! It’s the birthday of luminaries from Prince Vincent & Princess Josephin of Denmark (2011) to Larry Storch from F Troop (1923) – even current North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un (1983 – or 1984). More importantly, it’s the birthday of the Thin White Duke, David Bowie (1947)!
And to celebrate his 66th birthday, the iconic musician has announced a new album, The Next Day, coming out in March – his first in an entire decade! And he’s put out the first Next Day single, “Where Are We Now?”. Despite the happy news & occasion, “Where” is some sad, tragic Bowie, with even the closing crescendo tinged with loss. Most importantly, Bowie’s back – and on form.
Now if we can only get a new release from the even longer-in-hibernation Elvis Presley (1935)…
