The effervescently, ever-heavenly Steffaloo, who has made more cameos than I can count, arrives with an EP of her own, On Fire.
The 7" landed in my mailbox today, looking gorgeous with its sherbert-orange vinyl, and sounding even better. Dreamy layered vocals, stripped-down acoustic guitar, precision-cut poetic stanzas floating past the ear like a fallen leaf down a lazy river… Steffaloo on her own is a nice, homespun break from the chillwave-y projects she tends to collaborate with. Who knew? Underneath all that buzz was an honest-to-goodness singer/songwriter in an old-fashioned Joni Mitchell-meets-Hope Sandoval vein.
Stream all three tracks from the EP below, including the extra Sun Glitters remix. Go stalk Steffaloo at Facebook & Twitter & stream more at Bandcamp & go buy the 7" at JAXART Records while they last. I’ll include her home site link too — here — with the caveat that it’s not working at the moment. Oh well, maybe it will fix itself — the internet sucks.
