QRO’s psyched to see that the string of great 7"s Shark? has been putting out will finally culminate in a full-length album. Few bands gig harder in the NYC rock scene than the Brooklyn band (I think they played like 5 or 6 gigs at the last CMJ festival), so you love to see that sweat equity pay off in an album like True Waste. The cover looks like a puddle of vomit on a sidewalk (I’ve included the larger picture below so you can savor the details), which is about par for the course for a band with a question mark in their name.
From an early listen to True Waste you can hear the old retro, garage-rock-iness of the 7"s has been polished up to a hard-rocking Pixies-esque glimmer. Good stuff! The track below, "Shark?", is a theme-song of sorts. Hit up their Myspace, Bandcamp, Twitter, and enjoy Shark? Month all this May (dates below)!
