This past weekend, May 20th-21st, music fans from all over the world descended on the vibrant streets of Forest Hills for the much-anticipated inaugural Head In The Clouds Fest. The festival, set against the picturesque backdrop of Queens, featured an awe-inspiring lineup that left attendees in awe and ignited a melodic bliss in their souls.
Despite the inclement weather on Saturday, the event continued, and the skies eventually smiled on the revelers, showering them with glorious sunshine radiating an atmosphere of musical bliss on Day Two.
The festival’s star-studded lineup featured an impressive array of talents spanning various genres, in celebration of AAPI Heritage month in May – all delivering a blend that captivated all spectators who were fortunate enough to be present.
With Rich Brian headlining Night One, Brian headlined the stage with electrifying energy, transporting the crowd to another dimension through covering his discography and its evolution since 2016.
Milli and Masiwei, two chart-topping titans, contributed their foot-stomping anthems to the mix, fostering an intimate connection between artists and fans as their spirited performances reverberated throughout the stadium.
The festival shook with an infectious beat as hip-hop icon P-Lo took the stage, igniting a frenzy among the crowd. With a velvety smooth voice, Akini Jing delivered a breathtaking performance that flawlessly combined melodic flow with choreographic flair. beabadoobee, a pioneer in the indie rock / pop rock scene, held the audience’s attention with her commanding presence and cementing her place as an artist to watch.
Throughout the weekend, the talents of sharing the bill on the lineup shone brightly. Their energizing fusion of hip-hop, rock, and pop sparked an irresistible sound that swept the stadium. Dumbfounded performed his signature blend of rap with contemporary sounds, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard them.
Not to mention the unreal, jaw-dropping performances of Itzy and Loren, who enriched the festival with a diverse musical sound ranging from rock to K-Pop. In essence, the inaugural HITC festival in New York was truly an unforgettable experience in both music + authentic celebration of AAPI Heritage month.
