
‘Supergroup’ has been an overused music biz word since the seventies, but boygenius truly is one. Composed of the leading ladies of today’s ‘sad girl pop’, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, each of whom you’re already in love with, they put out a self-titled EP in 2018, and then returned to their successful solo careers, leaving boygenius like some mirage in the past.
But in 2023 they’re releasing the record, to the ecstasy of sad girls (& boys) everywhere. March 31st it comes out, they’re even playing Coachella the month after, and we can only hope for a tour to confirm with our own eyes that boygenius isn’t just some dream.
