That disco is back is old news – seemingly every genre is back, but disco is really back. So it comes as no surprise that indie-disco is a style seeing success, with synthesizers and guitars. In that vein, Two Door Cinema Club’s Gameshow is neither surprising nor revelatory, but does deliver indie-disco.

There are definite moments on Gameshow. The title track is bigger and bolder, while the following “Lavender” is starker, for a more memorable dance piece. Even the epic torch song “Invincible” is truly an epic torch song. But there are also run-of-the-mill songs one might just find “Ordinary”.
Even if the album never truly wows, truth be told, Two Door Cinema Club was always an alt-act that was more enjoyable than remarkable. And Gameshow is certainly something to dance to.
