After four joyous singles, there’s a new track coming from the up-and-coming Californian duo That Kid Eileen, “Miracle From Head To Toe”.
Known for their mix of West Coast vibes with mid-American feeling, “Miracle” is even more positive than the previous single “Uh Uh” (QRO review). On this one, the singer marvels at how miraculous it feels to have reconnected with a loved one and then describes what she could do with that energy, that euphoria, “I wanna be where everyone around me knows something I don’t / I wanna learn new languages.”
The conclusion is that this miracle made them both stronger, almost indestructible.
Musically, it’s even more sparse than previous tracks. Here, we hear a different way to produce the song by OFxSHxRE, co-writer of the track. Contrary to “Uh Uh”, the base of the song is just some brief notes of bass melody, some fleeting keyboard chords and light percussion. The lyrics and their delivery dictate the feel and rhythm of the track, and the voice is deeper in the mix, not at all as up close as in “Uh Uh”.
All in all, this one is another catchy melody. And this is the main trait of That Kid Eileen. Are you in for short, groovy, earworm-generating dreamy pop?
Then look no further.
