Cut Copy : LiveWith one of the best albums of 2008 to support, Cut Copy had the pressure on and completely delivered. At Paradise in Boston on May 12th, Cut Copy headlined a triple-bill of Mobius Band and Black Kids, and despite having some people leave before they took the stage, completely stole the show.  For those anticipating the show with more-than-average intensity, it exceeded nearly all expectations in execution and energy.

Promoting their release, In Ghost Colours (QRO review), the Australian trio armed with a drummer made the crowd swing ass from start to finish – even through the rapturous applause for an encore.   Absolutely tearing it up with a dense mix of electro-rock that was surprisingly honest to their album, Cut Copy sent everyone home sweaty.  They opened with “Out There On the Ice” and poured every last ounce of effort into the show from there on out.  They played gem after gem from In Ghost Colours, some and from 2004’s Bright Like Neon Love, and thanks to some pre-meditated mixing, each really came out beautifully live.

Not only Cut Copy’s album top notch, their live show goes right along with it.  All the energy that any DJ could command on a dancefloor combined with the raw vibe of a rock show combined into a show that gets every hip shaking.  Throw in an engaging stage presence that included jamming on a guitar with a drumstick, and it’s a perfect performance.
