Australia’s iconic alt-rockers Midnight Oil just put out their first new song in seventeen years, “Gadigal Land”. An aboriginal rights anthem from the people who brought you “Beds Are Burning” and “The Dead Heart”, “Gadigal Land” tells what happened to the original Gadigal people of Sydney when colonialism came ashore.
“Gadigal Land” is the first single from the band’s upcoming The Makarrata Project, out in October, and includes Kaleena Briggs, Bunna Lawrie, Dan Sultan plus “a lyrical section written and delivered by Gadigal poet, Joel Davison.”
