Disco became quite the choice at Fuzzy Dice Disco Party, hosted by Rose Gold Presents on Friday, April 14th. Musica NYC definitely took us on a trip down memory lane with huge pink fuzzy dice installations and a stellar lineup.

Pagoda

To start things off, Pagoda had a super chill set, so people were intently listening more than dancing near the back of the venue. As a result, it felt like an intimate concert but did not mind the lounge vibe. Once people got comfortable, the dance floor gradually filled up. Towards the latter half, one notable track really brought his set home – Klaus Veen’s house version of Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison”. Overall, Pagoda maintained the amazing energy throughout.

Hooah

When Hooah came on, the crowd got bigger, ready to jam even further. Straight out of the gate, this guy’s set felt groovy. His smooth buildups kept the audience engaged, as the next tracks were loaded. It seemed as though Hooah enjoyed himself, and the crowd fed off of that the more he played. Dancers complemented the set with disco themed outfits as Hooah fittingly played a remix of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer”.

The Knocks

A late start quickly turned into a blazing set by The Knocks and the crowd responded well. The tracks were slowed down beautifully without compromise, regardless of whether they were modern or classic. Musica NYC was transformed into a huge celebration with nostalgic tunes like Funky Town and Eddie Murphy’s “Party All the Time”. The Knocks set the weekend tone with Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, as well as Daft Punk’s legendary track “One More Time” towards the end. By that time, everyone wanted more from the duo.

Pagoda, Hooah and The Knocks gave the audience a spectacular experience, both individually and collectively. Good times combined with togetherness made Friday night a huge success.
