From opener “Timeless” to closer “Play It Out”, DMA’s do indie-rock right, and manage to add emotion without getting emo, something the Commonwealth has always seemed better at. There is some reduced, slower touching emotion in pieces such as “Delete” and the world-wise “Blown Away”, but also catch in tracks like “Lay Down” and “Melbourne”.
Hills End may lack for an obvious single to give them their fifteen minutes of blog love, but instead the band has crafted a full album for something more sustainable.
