Cloud Nothings : Final Summer

Dylan Baldi’s Cloud Nothings could have easily aged into veteran status like so many punks before, getting mellow or just going through the agit motions. Instead, he has managed to keep up the youthful energy with which his bound broke through, while refining the sound. There’s powerful pressure & explosions to the latest, Final Summer.

The opening title track naturally encapsulates the record, strong building pressure of both youth and age, along with “Mouse Policy”. “Running Through the Campus” has reaching emotion even if you’re many years removed from living on a campus. And there’s back-to-back-to-back three great explosions of indie-punk, “The Golden Halo”, “Thank Me For Playing”, and “On the Chain”.

By the time you’re an adult, you have to look both forward and back, remembering the old times while also preparing for the future times, not to mention living in the now times. Cloud Nothings enjoy every Final Summer.
