Live music is back in Des Moines! The 80/35 Music Festival is a two-day event that takes over downtown Des Moines in early July each year. 80/35 was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.
The music festival was back, Friday & Saturday, on July 8th and 9th in 2022. 80/35 sets up five stages, and four are free to attend. The line-up for 80/35 is always good. There are local acts and bands from across the United States and the world.
Several bands said this was their first time in Iowa. The bands had so much energy they had the audience literally dancing in the streets. I did not see or hear a single negative thing about 80/35. The people were ready to party. It’s good to be back.
